Watching the person you love do what sets their soul on fire, is the sexiest thing on the planet! (Nevermind that my stomach sits in my throat the whole time watching Kyle ride!)

But there’s something to be said for having the courage to recklessly pursue a passion.

Especially a passion that is hella’ dangerous, means you’ll be in the car for days travelling, selling gear for fuel money, living off energy drinks & paying fees with your last dime, for a ride that you may buck off at the 7.80 second mark, only to repeat it every weekend… all as part of the glorious rodeo journey!

At this particular bull ride there was a little chap – barely 5yo – who was watching Kyle’s every move. Shadowing him from the stands. He couldn’t take his eyes off him.

This is my view of what he was looking at, at that exact moment.

There was an excitement in his eyes that I recognise from my youth. That little glimmer you get when someone seems larger than life to you.

We later grow up to realise that this person is just an adult, no different than us. But in that moment, they feel like a motherf*$%in’ Superhero!

As Kyle slung the rope on his draw behind the chutes, the lil’ tacker turned to his Mum & assertively announced, “When I grow up, I’m gonna be a cowboy, just like him. Yup!”

His mum replied “Sweetheart, work hard & you can be whatever you want to be!” (I am usually a puppy person. But holy bajeezers, not gonna lie, I melted!)

Isn’t that the bloody truth though? “WORK HARD & you can be whatever you want to be!”

I don’t think life is about the goals you achieve. I am starting to learn that it’s about the journey to get there.

About the hustle. About doing everything you can, to get what you want.

About falling down so you can learn you have the strength to always get back up.

About the lessons you learn along the way (& f*£× me, are some of those lessons bloody hard!)

Life is about igniting that spark, fanning the flame & making sure that you sure as hell NEVER DIE WITH THE FIRE INSIDE OF YOU!
